4 May 2013. 31 Years N Counting.

Believe it or not. This is actually my first Morton. Steak was good, much so for the ambience's as well. Was telling Yellow, the mash potato reminds me of Singapore Jack Place. My ultimate fav when I was a kid. Nothing beats dinner @ Parkway Jack Place. Lots of bacon bits on my baked potato. Things are much more simpler when you are 12, isnt?
Off to Art Gallery @ Expo. Gave Andy Warhol a miss. Critics mentioned that 15mins Eternal brings you nowhere. I shall go with the flow. Nearly doze off at the ancient painting section. Modern is much nicer. I love how strolling a specific artist collection brings you back to his era, understand how his times are like and what his views are..
20 degrees. Sunny. 31 years old, married. In Shanghai. Never thought that will be it. That is the interesting part about living. So, try to have passion in life, keep going. Of course, I am not saying its all bed roses. Friends/Families are there when it isnt. Leap when you have/can/want. There will be net waiting(or so I wish).
My little pressie this year. A daisy that Yellow plucked from the street. One and only. Being a sucker for pressies, I didnt manage to get any for myself. Last week, I had the idea that, maybe, I will give myself an experience, as a pressie. Pen it out, list it down! WIP.
Comes the real pressie that Yellow got for me. I loved it! Symbolize that its China influence, marks where I am at 31 years old. 3 wishes this year. My folks to be healthy. Keep my loved ones happy. Last one, which is a new one. I shall keep it between me n Cami :)

Called Me Ashok!

Saw this little fellow at Ashok station on my 2nd day in BKK. Ever since then, whenever I passes by Ashok, he is always there. In different positions but always sleeping! Cutez!

12 years later BKK

BKK is after all still BKK. Cant be very different. Above is Talad Rot Fai. A new weekend RETRO night market. I would say, its Chatuchak minus the heat. Worth a visit. Can grab dinner, check out retro pieces, childhood memories. And some oldies snacks.
I dont know why. I didnt enjoy the massages. It is not as good as before? Or have I changed? Haiz. 4 of us went to BKK 12 years ago. Alot has changed through the years. Schooling days are over, caught in the rat race. Got attached, married. Have our fair share of problems. Used to be that its parents' running over us, no longer the case. Glad that, we, "somehow" remain close. Can we do this when we are 43?
Am I big on cafes. Didn't use to be:) I like above at Silom Complex. Don't mind going back again for the cin coffee. Skip e sticky rice. Marmalade in the garden @ Siam Centre is another cafe which I will go back. I totally enjoyed my ME time there. I am one loner. Destined to travel alone?

Home Cooked Meal In BKK

Ting and I are talking about her homecooked bd meal for Victor which got the below started. She called it a loser recipe. Because, it can never really go wrong:) Ingredients pictured above. To me, cooking is all about right sequences and proportion. So, below is my revised after my first try.
 This dish is called 一锅煮.
1)Stir fry 虾米 and shallots till shallots golden brown. 8 shallots - 2 cup rice.
2)Add in white cabbage and Chinese mushroom.
3)Season with oyster sauce, pepper and sesame oil
4) When the above is cooked, pour into rice cooker with 2 cup rice.
* meat is optional. If yes, add at this stage.
5)As there will be water from the veg, minus 30 pct water from usual amt used to cook rice.
This one, is my recent new found love. Love PQ for her eatery recommendations. 菜脯 bitter gourd omelet.
1) Slice bitter gourd, boil till cooked. Pinch salt.
2) Beaten egg, 1 sachet sugar, pepper and add the cooked bitters
3) After washing 菜脯, stir fry in wok till dry.
4) Add oil to wok, return the egg mixture.
5) Serve with coriander.
Actually, I dont think it tasted fantastic(AT ALL). But nevertheless, Sien did have 2 bowls of rice. 很给面子. 谢谢! Sauce wise, I am particular. Try chopped garlic, chili padi, lemon juice and light soy. Bi now!

Friends Are Like STARS?

Pet says: Friends are like stars, always there but not always seen. Called me wilful, I dont want to be treated this way. Find it quite lame. Isnt it sugar coating what its nt?And surely, I want to keep mine close, thats makes me happy:)! Its natural and effortless. At least 80pct of time. The other 20pct, busy life, personal stuff, there is a need to put in effort to maintain bah.

Having said that, its tales 2 to clap. You might want them to be part of yours, but..Some are meant to be just friends. Should let it be. Through times, I have also learnt, not to have expectations. Its stressed pple up and its root to all heartaches.

Above. Little surprise bd cake for me @ BKK. Ai ai my friends.
