I am not big on celebration. And if you know me personally, you gathered I am a pressie person. Shallow, but I am who I am la.. Yellow's bd, happening to be in my free lancing period. At first, I wanted to buy something for him, proved to be tricky, he has everything. Hence, I decided to find a nice dinner plc for him..


Found this place, Chris Ruth Steakhouse. By the bund. I purposely went there for lunch alone, before deciding. Turned out, Steak is fair. Top notch service. I like the lobster bisque and cheesecake.


I think Yellow enjoyed the meal too! :) you will realized, sometimes, making other happy, makes you happier..


Part II. We went to Peninsula Hotel for its live band. Live will keep us alive- Eagles.

We call it Kopi in Singapore

Coffee. Is and will always be. A daily affair for me. Demanding, not so, I can settle for a Costa or Starbucks anyday. Last week, while I searched high n low for e last standing 恨牛 noodle bar, I came across Twosome. A Korean dessert & coffee chain.


Ordered a short latte and liked it as it's stronger n creamier. But, still fade in comparison.. Fuel or Cupping.. While I was there, read an article on coffee scene in HK. Surprising, I been to majority of them. Without much of an effort on my side. Names like cupping room, tekha, fuel. Just happening to be around where I lived and worked. What came as a surprise is: Coco esspero. A little cafe that's right opposite Putman. I must have gone there a dozen time, towards the last leg of my HK stunt. I like the latte there and the fact that I can pay by tapping my Octopus. Turned out, it's one of the rising star in e scene.


Anyway these 2. I have yet to check it out. Last night, while I was in bed.. Was thinking, how it became a luxury for me. To ask my friends out for a coffee. To catch up on life. To just chat on random things. Well. To end on positive note,I.e giving thanks.. I still have twosome in Shanghai. And now, meeting up for coffee with friends, might involve flying, which Is doable and manageable for me. Awesome in another way, isn't? Rabbit hole, shall we?

Sometimes, darkness reveals e Milky Way. But it might be tunnel all e way? Anyway, I hope I am going back to SIN soon. And for a longer period. Haiz, don't know when.. :(

Chichu Museum, Naoshima Japan

Simply going to jump right in. This is my favorite museum. It is like a dream come true to visit this place. And PQ, I can totally understand why someone would buy an annual pass. Because I will, if I am staying in that island for good. As I was telling PQ, I first know about Ando when I was visiting Paris. His meditation space, blew my mind off. It's no wonder that he's the mastermind of some of the most wonderful churches today..



For me, I like his use of lights. His concrete, the simplicity that it comes with. The entire Chichu is underground. In the inbound, apart from the exhibitions, you might catch glimpse of e sky. Nothing else. Very cool! Below is the Birdseye view of Chichu.



The only place that you get some view, is the cafe. Beautiful scene of the island coast. For me, the first thing that comes to mind when I step in- It feels like the beginning, it feels like something good. I sat there,.. For a long time.



As for the exhibitions, Monet is good. There's this Turruell; lights installation. It creates illusion, but only for a minute. I don't like it. Lastly, the sphere. I catch no balls. No photos allowed in the museum. But, I can't help it. PQ is not wrong, I could probably take this shot at Omensando Hills(By Ando too), no one can tell the difference.

Combat Cami

Yellow just told me that he found a home stay for Cami; one of his drinking buddies. Should we need it for e "SZ" transition. Some background, HE is a male cat, probably half the size of Cami. Gotten into fights before. However, HE would probably be fearful of Cami, because of her size. Knowing Cami, she most likely the world peace kind. The above will be best case scene.

Anyway, we concluded that we should teach the lass some combat skills and train her agility. In case of rainy days. Training starts today!

大叮当

He used to be a tiny little bean, sleeping comfortably in his crib. Now, he is almost blowing his candles at 3 (also how long I am in SHA). That day, J was showing me a photo of DD cramping in his crib, strikes me, kid literally spring! Up! Anyway, counting down to e "SZ", can't help to feel sad.. We can't hang out with JE and J as frequent as we used to..

Material became secondary...

As I was telling V some times back, material fails to impress me, as it used to.. More and more, I am leaning towards experiences..Became more evident in this trip. Apart from 2pairs of socks and couple of tees(10-20usd), I got nothing else.. Still, I would consider this an awesome trip. Luv e 2 islands we hop onto, the ridiculously blue sky, the food, the PQ and her stories, the 人间有爱 story.. Etc. Anyway, TGIF to everyone reading this.. Love a little thing:)

Housewife Tales

Time to get into wife-y mode for a little. Btw, do you know the differences between 提子and 葡萄？In China, 提子mainly refer to imported counterpart, cost more. From my own tasting, 提子 less meaty, don't have to de skin. Flavor more concentrated.. My fav is 黑提子。

Jiro Sushi TKY

I love sushi all my life. So, going to Jiro for a meal is like paying tribute. Like going to a shrine. Anyway for those who are not familiar and love sushi, do watch "Jiro Dream of Sushi". This infamous place is where PM Abe hosted Obama when he's in TKY last year.

Although I read that Jiro Junior is more laid back as compared to his father, but I can't help to feel nervous upon entering. While waiting, tea was served to me. Saw Jiro preparing his work table, somehow from his tone and body language, I left e nervous me behind. At the sushi bar, hot tea been served and Jiro told the guy that I am left handed. I haven't even pick up my chopstick ok! Tells a thing or two, isn't?

20 pcs was being served and I can be sure to say, it is the best 20 sushi in my life. I repeated Otoro, shrimp, and 2 raw sardine. Making it top 24 in my life:) When the first shrimp been served, advise is to eat the tail first, and end portion is not meant to be eaten. At this moment, Jiro took back my sushi and cut away the tail for me. Only mine, no one else. Haha. Only for ladies, maybe?



Somewhat, even when the head is peeled off, the "good stuff" remains. Has to do with the way it was cut..I like this place, beyond the food. Junior Jiro's attitude towards work and attitude towards food; something we should takeaway and applied to our own lives. Anyway, I hope I will be able to visit Senior Jiro joint, sometimes...I don't want to be greedy and say SOON.. Missing Japan already....

Blogging from TKY Shibuya Starbucks. Just returned from Naoshima at 6am. It's a place I will go back again. More on that laters. Despite 2 full days of intensive traveling and overnight coach sleepless night to -fro, PQ and I are still going strong, 70 75 percent charged. Shopping, you are next!
