I am officially done with Little Nyonya. Finished 34 episodes. Changed my opinion of Jeanette Aw. She is now my favourite of all the local artistes. Lov'in her. Quoting the MobTV kiddos, I can now move on with my life. K~OO~L!

Such Engaging Fri Night

Was out with BV BEJ Gang. Crab Feast. But that ain't the topic of the night. In fact, it wasn't tasty to start off. I think the snacks that we ate at Roy's place (Yes-ish, its been 10 years since we last stepped into his room) and the Ham&Egg Toast at HK Cafe is much tastier. Still. The engaging part is on: LITTLE NYONYA!!! I ever had such high level discussion with anyone. Really. PQ really spike it high for me. With anyone else. When I start off with Little Nyonya topic, they will ask: " Oo.. so Pan Lingling is who's wife. Aw Xun is deaf i heard. She act quite well ah? " Cmon.. Beginner level discussion. I am soo not interested. Maybe, I should just hang out with PQ and PQ only. Allow me to echo: Little Nyonya is dammmmmmn NICE! Lastly, Gang, I hope you like the " Xi" Book. Friends Forever!

Breakfast By Pool

I am a breakfast person. Missing the long and relaxing breakfast that I ate with Moo at Choup.

Hence, insisted to Yellow that I wanted one by the pool. Obviously, he is the fast food type.

Eat. Done. Sleep.

Hee hee. Nice leh. Take rest. A field that has rested gives beautiful crop. Grrrrreat working week ahead!

Was chatting with Cheryl about Cami. Talking about seeing is believing. I am starting to know. FAITH is believing without seeing.

Simple Things..

Not feeling well this entire weekend. Missed work today too. But 2 hrs of Little Nonya did gave me a little boast. (",) Sweet dreams.

That Napoleon Dude

Today's Daily Bread (",)

Yesterday, I saw M in HVM. She look the same, and ya, still with the same hairstyle. Wasn't able to pluck up my courage to walk up and say hi. O well. Laugh all you want! Anyway, I remember M did a complication of motivational quotes for the whole baddy team. One of my fav was:

Victory belongs to the most persevering - Napoleon.

My dad used to tell me how great a man this Napoleon dude is. Hence it became my memorized quote at once. But it became my fav because... I once lost a match. Started crying once I sat in my bus coach. So obviously, my eyes were all red when I reached home. When my mum asked me why: I said, I persevered even at the very end of 2nd game but why match victory belonged to HER!

Mum said Napoleon's quote should be applied now. Persevering and the victory belongs to you. That weekend, Mum told me to take a break from training and brought me to Funworld Parkway and Pizza Hut. I felt so much better after the day out :)

After the day out, shak-ED it OFF! Trained damn hard in 1997. Was really disappointed when I didn't get to face HER in 97. I wanted revenge. But I won my match in 97 though. It is that moment, that I know Napoleon wasn't that big a liar. What he said did make sense. The importance of not giving up, preserve and achieving victory.

Now that I am blogging. I realised another angle. Knowing the importance of not giving up and preserving in itself is a victory. That makes my mum proud of me. :)

Friday Night

Usually, I prefer Thurs Night to Friday Night. Because Friday is Yellow's Drinking Night. Others usually spend it with boyfriends or " got something planned out liao loh".

Worst is, on Saturday.

Dee: Last night, was so good. Too bad you didn't join us.

Me: Ah, you DIN ASK!!!!

Dee: Wow lau, Friday, Sat and Sun are dating days, you sure go out with your Yellow mah.

Me: Orh....

But this Friday is better than usual. Took a walk around Bedok Interchange. Familiar and bringing back good memories. Then, was dinner at Blk 85 with Tin Tin and my pet. Ending at Foo House. Nice food and company. Interesting topics and as usual, plenty of laughter.

Just back from HK. What hot in HK? Michele Reis just got married. Wedding pictures are all over the place. Hot kinda of hot.

What is happening to the world today? Reading today's papers. "No news is good news". It is so true. All news are bad. Where is the trust and love. And eventually PEACE.

Da Tong Beijing Duck

If you never climb GW, you have never been to Beijing.

Sames goes to Beijing Duck. You just have to!

Da Tong is sweet. Free flow of wine as you wait for your table.

The bar top is surrounded around the open concept kitchen. Ducklings roasting in cherry wood.

Makes you want to order one more duck. WHICH WE DID!

A sign that we have over ordered. But who cares. Every single dish there is yummy.

My top 3 dishes.

3rd place: Beijing Duck

2nd place: Braised Eggplant. I never had these before. Tasted like Kong Ba. Goes well with a bowl of plain rice.

Top place: Gingko Nuts with Cabbage. Thanks PQ for her reco. This dish is a STAR! Creamy gravy, seems like chicken broth with minced ginko nuts. Cabbage and whole ginko nuts nicely cooked. The combination and style of cooking is JUST SIMPLE HEAVENLY! I shall be back. I want to share these dishes with Yellow :)

Lijiang 丽江

Lijiang. A very charming little place. That you wouldn't mind going back. Again and again.

Local delight: BA BA. I still think our roti prata beats them, upside down. inside out.

Hmmm. But their BBQ food is nice.

BBQ mushrooms never taste so good! Extremely cheap too. 2-4 SGD for this platter.

Shu He Old Town. Reasonable enough to spend 2-3 hours.

Then check into a native Naxi Tribe Home stay.

We occupied the best rooms in town. Yi Mi Yang Guang is filmed in these rooms. Thanks Wei!
