777

777 mean different things to people. If you are thinking about the Boeing 777, you wasnt with me..Today, we are not on the Travel Issue(will show you more about my Tibet trip soon). Ok, now, you may think about Jackpot and 777 meaning good luck for gambling. Ok, my standpoint is, I dont gamble, I am more of an investor. Gambling, is irrational, as an individual, those who know me enough, should know that I am VERY VERY rational.. Even in terms of ************ . No doubt, Shake spear's line still rest firmly on my IPOD.

Alright, today topic is on.. 1987, 1997 and 2007. Crisis is the word but way b4 today, I was telling Mister Yellow that its just not going to happen because of CHINA. Well, as you may know, due to Sugar influence, I have good impression on China, but that doesnt formulate my view, but I have to admit, being a Chinese and good understanding of their history did help in formulation for that matter. JPY was higher due to the unwinding of carry trades and most find that troubling, pressurized as investors are cashing out high yielders financed with the lows. But it stabilized.. However, these are growing pain, that you need to take note of. Japan and US, been depending on low borrowing cost to spur growth, which is distorting the markets. So even if this incident does not call for the RUSH to exit the mkt, but definitely you will need to exercise some caution when you invest in the Japan and US economies.

Especially US. Alright, ST still looks pretty ok, seems like FOMC is likely to hold rates for the time being, firming the greenback for awhile more.. But what I dislike most and form my bears is the fact that Alan always blame it on others and don see yourself as the culprit. Your close to 800 billion trade deficits and slow coach in housing are fundamentals, once the Fed gives way, there is NO WAY anyone can view the positivity out of you. Guys, GBP is my better bet if you let me choose between the 3s(USD, EUR, GBP).

Though 97 been the Asian Crisis, I truly thought that if one is to come by this year, it will not be in the East. West more likely. Or more properly, the developed, including Japan. Knowing the way the Chinese functions, foundation is the WORD, and it wasn't bubbles. Well, obviously bubbles form in rapid conditions, what I am saying is it will be in the lowest it can be.. Knowing their emphasis on foundation and solid growth. Hmmm again, this is just my op. I am not the arty fa*** economist. Just sharing my thoughts with you and with myself.

And o ya, Malaysia, if you can improve and meet some conditions I had in mind, the Bumi in particular, you are my bet leh.. Coz you have been doing badly these couple of years, haha.. hence more potential.. Alright, CIAO guys

Freedom In Exile (Dalai Lama)

I always wanna to read more...One glance at a book and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for 1,000 years. To read is to voyage through time. Carl Sagar,US astronomer & popularizer of astronomy (1934 - 1996). Know him? That brainy who put up a case for high surface temperature of VENUS, when others thought its balmy paradise. And no doubt, brainy won..

Packing up. Found this book lying around. Author, Dalai Lama, winner of Nobel Peace Prize. Hmmm. Decent, if you wanna know more about Tibet; the spiritual side. Definitely is only one side of the story. The whole Tibet-China drama, what it meant for the Tibetians etc. So.. probably, a trip to Tibet, get some understanding yourself may help. Any case, try catching the movie " Kundun", based on the lama life story. Haha.. I happen to have the film. Beg meeeeeee... Actually, Tibet is a safe bet, if you wanted something different for your next holiday. Climate, typical downy special. Different in various area and vary greatly in a single day as well. But if you are talking about Lhasa, its in the centre, so its nicer for travelling. But altitude wise. All I can say is... Endure and perhaps doing some physical training before the trip helps.

For me, what I like most, is the Tibetan Buddhism. The entire story about the reincarnation of the Living Buddha, how they search for these soul boys, the Celestial Burial Service (Sky Funeral). All these charms me.

Abit on the Sky Funeral.
Celestial Burial, which is also known as “Bird Burial” is the ordinary burial service in Tibet, and the ceremony normally held by the farmers, herders and ordinary people. Buddhists believe that Celestial Burial represents their wishes to go to heaven. There are celestial burial places and professional celestial burial masters in every district. When a person dies, he or she is bent into a sitting position, with the head against the knees. The body is wrapped in white Tibetan cloth and laid on an earthen platform on the right behind the door. Lamas read the scripture aloud to release the soul from purgatory. The family will choose a lucky day and ask the body carrier to carry the body away to the celestial burial platform. "Su” smoke is burned to attract condors, Lamas chant sutras to redeem the sins of the soul, and a professional celestial burial master deals with the body. Then the condors come, and attempt to eat the body. If the body is eaten, it shows the dead person has no sin and that the soul has gone peacefully to Paradise. If not, the remains of the body will be collected and burnt and the Lamas chant sutras to redeem the sins of the dead. The Tibetans believe that the condors on the mountains around the celestial burial platform are “holy birds” and only eat the human body without attacking any small animals nearby. The service often takes place in the morning. The body should be sent to the destination before dawn and the service begins while the sun is rising. Visitors should not go to watch the service without permission.

Actually, you can pay to watch such service in Lhasa. But I didnt. Respect is the word. Next entry, I will show you some pictures that I took in Tibet. Ciao!

4 Mar 2007, Sunday

World largest colossal squid, caught in New Zealand. A good whole 450kg. We wasnt that fat afterall, isnt? And ya, imagine calamari rings from this "little creature", at least the size of tractor tyre right? Well, just a little side track, cause it always important to know what happening elsewhere. Just like, doesnt mean if you work hard enough, you will have a good life, retire early. At most times, it doesnt happen this way and smart ass always follows a different set of rules. They learn how to fly.

Missy S, I know you will be reading this. Just wanna to say sorry. Sorry for turning down the offer. Hmmm.. in case guys out there wasnt with me, I got an offer for my new house, decent buck reuturns i must say, but Mister Yellow and I decided that its wasnt our intention. As most were to classified property asset as investment; defined as generating positive returns. I know its dumb, needless to put positive returns infront of investment, just like you dont see people saying wet water. Maybe, I should put it this way, it wasnt an investment to start off, its to me, more like a place to put my fight, my passion. After buying this place, I felt more committed to life, to future and to the relationship. So it meant more than merely investment to me. And, having said that, I dont see myself locking into short terms gains by selling Lighthouse, its afterall the first asset that I have gotten with Mister Yellow. Does meant things. So Missy S, sorry hor.. Na, your fav drink and snack, just for you.

Wow, I prepared my own lunch today. Was nice loh. I love it. Healthy stuff.. You have Soba with french onions dressing, Salmon sashimi and most important of all, Fish Maw soup. Wow lao, all the good stuff, wolfberries, scallops, chinese mushrooms and FISH MAW. FM, the air bladder of large fish, obviously nourishing, full of protein and COLLAGEN. Ah something i love and die for. haha.. Burp burp.. Ryan, thx for the reco. Its great stuff really.

Close look at soup of GOODNESS! Yummy! Transparent looking cubes, FISH MAW

Droste Effect

Droste effect, term for recursive effect. A picture exhibiting DE depicts a smaller version of itself in the orginal picture. DE term was coined by poet Nico Scheepmarker. Named after a Dutch branded hot choco, whose box has a picture of a nurse carrying a tray with the box of choco, same brand..Hmmmm... An example of DE will be... film a TV with a video cam, and displaying the output on the same TV..Now ur turn, can you think of any example of DE?
